Join us for the third event in our new speaker series, TEACHxperts, created to capitalize on the creativity of TEACHx. The day will include two talks by Timothy McKay, a Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Physics, Astronomy, and Education at the University of Michigan. He is currently focused on how learning analytics can help us understand and improve teaching and learning. His team explores grading patterns and performance disparities.

ECoach: The ECoach application serves as a tool for tailored communication, building upon behavioral science techniques and constructs originally developed in public health.Students are able to use ECoach to receive personalized assistance in large classes, learn best practices, discover opportunities in areas of interest, and avoid common pitfalls.The combination of personalized messages and normative data visualizations provides students with consistent insights into their progress, leading to higher motivation, greater engagement, and, ultimately, behavior change as students expand their learning experience.
REBUILD: The mission of REBUILD is to transform the University of Michigan into an environment that promotes recruitment, retention, and academic excellence in STEM by improving learning outcomes for all students in STEM courses. To this end, REBUILD aims to catalyze the use of evidence-based teaching methods and promote a culture of scholarly teaching.
