What if your students could share articles about a topic you discussed in class last week or share a video about a concept from this week’s readings and pose a question to their classmates? Wouldn’t it be nice if they could share links to articles and discuss concepts as easily as they do on Facebook? They will have this capability if you add Yellowdig to your Canvas course site.
Yellowdig is a student engagement tool that resembles a Facebook or Twitter feed, and it gives students an intuitive interface for sharing videos, news articles, and blog articles relevant to your course. It is very easy to set up and use.
Using Yellowdig has two main benefits:
- Makes large classes small: It can be difficult for students to share ideas in a big class, or even to get to know each other. Yellowdig is a convenient forum for sharing ideas, getting to know each other, and trying out new concepts.
- Increases collaboration: By engaging with each other, students build valuable knowledge communities and stay motivated in the course.
