The “L” Word: Using Engaged Lecturing in the Classroom

The “L” Word: Using Engaged Lecturing in the Classroom

Although lecturing has recently been rebranded as an unfashionable mode of pedagogy, it can still be an exciting and engaging way to communicate material in a short time period. In this workshop, participants will learn strategies for making their lectures engaging, focusing on both form (the presentational skills with which the lecture is given) and content (what is included in the lecture and how to make sure students get that message). Participants will be given the opportunity to practice engaged lecturing during the workshop.

Facilitated by Grace Kessler Overbeke (Theatre and Drama) and Laura Shanahan (NUIN)
