How can you help your students learn together?

Collaborative learning is a process by which students work together in pairs or small groups to increase their knowledge and understanding. This approach has been found to increase student motivation to learn; to engage students (from diverse cultural and social backgrounds) more deeply in their own learning; and to help students appreciate their peers' ideas, perspectives, and contributions.

Whether you teach small or large classes, this interactive session will help you (1) explore the key ideas and strategies related to collaborative learning; and (2) apply them to the fostering of collaborative learning in your own teaching context. In addition, we will discuss how to encourage a peer-rich culture (where collaboration is expected).
