Northwestern Information Technology supports creativity and innovation in teaching and learning through the incorporation of Canvas and other educational technologies as an integral part of the educational experience at Northwestern University.

To this end, Northwestern Information Technology Faculty Support Services has broadened its focus, using Canvas as a platform to explore blended and active learning techniques and share them with the campus. Expanding Northwestern’s engagement with educational technologies is the focus of a variety of endeavors, including interactive workshops, public events, and working closely with collaborative faculty groups.

Educational Technology Teaching Fellows

The Educational Technology Teaching Fellows is a collaborative group of like-minded instructors dedicated to exploring blended learning opportunities using Canvas.

Searle Fellows

The Searle Fellows Program aims to help early career faculty develop expertise and knowledge about learning and teaching.

Experimental Teaching & Learning Analytics at Northwestern

An interdisciplinary group of faculty and graduate students interested in measuring and analyzing the learning and educational processes at various levels at Northwestern.

Active Learning Environments Faculty Group

Northwestern faculty participating in this collaborative group are teaching in two technologically enhanced classroom spaces—Tech F281 and M349—and attend regular group meetings to share their successes and challenges with active learning.

Innovation in Teaching Series

A lecture series hosted by the Garage and the Office of the Provost to explore new developments in teaching and learning.
