Providing accommodations in an online environment

Providing accommodations in an online environment

Moving to an online setting results in some changes in how accommodations are provided. This session will walk instructors through how to provide the most common academic accommodations requested in an online setting. Participants will explore how to manage student accommodations through the instructor portal in the AccessibleNU database. They will also learn how to add extra time to exams in Canvas, provide a transcript of recorded sessions in Zoom and Panopto, and ensure that their Canvas sites and materials posted on Canvas are accessible for all students.

This workshop is a part of the Practicum for Online Teaching which is a partnership between AccessibleNU, the Libraries, the School of Professional Studies, the Searle Center for Advancing Learning & Teaching, and Northwestern Information Technology.
