Throughout the academic year, the Center for Latinx Digital Media invites you to a series of weekly seminars held over Zoom on Thursdays. You can now register (click here) for the upcoming seminar for the Winter 2023 quarter, happening on March 2, at 12-1 PM US CT.

Diego Gómez-Zará (University of Notre Dame) will give a presentation entitled "Examining the Effects of Virtual Reality on Team Creativity."

Abstract: The challenging business conditions over the past three years have accelerated a shift to remote work by normalizing working from home on a large scale. Current technological advances allow us to envision workplaces supported by Virtual Reality (VR). As such, understanding how VR can support (or hinder) workers becomes necessary for building organizational theories, policies, and guidance. In this talk, I will describe a preliminary study to examine how VR affects team creativity and processes.

Diego Gómez-Zará is an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on how social computational systems help people organize and collaborate. His work has been at the forefront of computational social science, human-computer interaction, and network science.

This event is co-sponsored by the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities, the Buffett Institute for Global Affairs, the Center for Global Culture and Communication, the Department of Communication Studies, the Department of Radio/Television/Film, and the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program.
