Design at the Intersections — Explorations at the Intersection: Complex Ecosystems

Design at the Intersections — Explorations at the Intersection: Complex Ecosystems

A talk presented by Amy O’Keefe, director of the Master of Science in Engineering Design Innovation (EDI) program and assistant faculty at Segal Design Institute, and Mitra Hartmann, professor of biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering.

Since Amy O’Keefe and Mitra Hartmann met last year, they have enjoyed exploring and understanding the similarities between their work. Hartmann’s work is in neuroscience and biomedical and mechanical engineering, and O’Keefe’s is in service design and design innovation. Through their discussions, they’ve discovered the intersection of their work centers on exploring, understanding, quantifying, and designing ecologies that exist in nature and in the physical and digital environments people navigate each day.

Join the Segal Design Institute for a provocative discussion that invites you to consider the ways in which neuroscience might inform the ways we approach designing interventions in integrated product service ecosystems.

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. RSVP by Friday, October 21.
