The Garage’s Winter Pre-Accelerator Program, Wildfire, presented in partnership with the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is hosting its end-of-program Demo Day on April 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. The five Wildfire teams will showcase and pitch their startups to an audience of Northwestern students, faculty, mentors and partners for a prize pool of $10,000, awarded Shark Tank style by our panel of judges!

Judges:

Eric Ong is a Senior Associate at Lightbank, where he concentrates on identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, providing support to portfolio companies, conducting financial & business due diligence, and leading the firm’s strategic content initiatives. Prior to joining Lightbank, Eric was part of the technology investment-banking division of Deutsche Bank in San Francisco where he focused on the software and internet sectors. During his time at Deutsche Bank, Eric executed over $30B in M&A advisory and capital markets transactions. Eric received his degree from Northwestern University.

Chris Steiner co-founded Aisle50, which was acquired by Groupon in 2015, and is a NYT bestselling author. His current project, ZRankings, is a web application that rates ski resorts based on true data. Chris holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MS, Journalism from Northwestern.

Suzanne Cohodes is a 30-year veteran of the tech industry with experience in transforming new technologies into products that customers want to buy. She's an expert in business plans, competitive analysis, customer definition and overall product strategy.

Mike Marasco has 20+ years as experienced manager, leader, intrapreneur, and entrepreneur, and joined the full-time faculty of the Northwestern McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in January 2007. Today he is a Clinical Professor and Director of the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (FCEI.) Michael founded FCEI to offer curriculum to help all NU students learn how to evolve an idea into a business. Within 18 months of the Center’s creation, McCormick alum and entrepreneur, James Farley and his wife, Nancy, endowed it. Michael oversees a broad curriculum that includes NUvention, a series of classes that simulate the acceleration/incubation process. NUvention alumni have created many companies that have raised millions in capital and been acquired by companies like Google and Apollo Group.
