World.Wine.Web. — NOTUNTERKUNFT

World.Wine.Web. — NOTUNTERKUNFT

Faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to join the quarterly World.Wine.Web. salon event of the Media and Design Studio. This October, Franziska Lys (German) and Jan Behrs (German) will join us to give a glimpse into their recently-completed two-quarter course, and spring break research trip with students in Berlin. As part of the course, students developed a robust multi-faceted online publication, NOTUNTERKUNFT, to share the stories of the refugees they met and the challenges of their reception in Germany.

Given the diverse nature of topics covered by the students, this event may be of interest to instructors of foreign language, history, anthropology, sociology, polticial science, global health, or anyone interested in learning more about the newest modes of digital scholarship, project-based learning, and/or models for onsite research in an authentic cultural setting.

The World.Wine.Web. salon format aims to bring together a diverse audience from across the arts, sciences, and humanities to gather over stimulating topics and savory treats. Remarks begin ~ 4:00 p.m., and last approximately 30-45 minutes.
