Leveraging Breakout Rooms

Whether in a 12 person literature seminar or a one hundred person science lecture, small group and paired engagements between students can be an essential part of the way students interact and participate in a class.  Small group meetings can give a student uncomfortable speaking up in class the courage and comfort to share their thoughts with peers, or offer an opportunity for real-time collaboration to sort through a difficult question. Classes meeting in online and hybrid formats still need to maintain the ability to leverage these short, fouced in-class learning opportunities. This video includes faculty insights on how Zoom Breakout rooms can become the solution to continuing to leverage small group breakouts during online or hybrid classes.
