Campus Deadline!!! - Google PhD Fellowship - Campus Deadline!!!

The Google PhD Fellowship Program recognizes outstanding graduate students doing exceptional work in computer science, related disciplines, or promising research areas.

Fellowship students are given funding to support them in their graduate studies.

Two (2) graduate students must be nominated by an eligible university.  Students may not apply directly.

Approximately 15 unique fellowships will be awarded from among the following:
Computational Neuroscience; Human Computer Interaction; Machine Learning; Machine Perception, Speech Technology and Computer Vision; Market Algorithms; Mobile Computing; Natural Language Processing; Privacy and Security; Programming Technology and Software Engineering; Structured Data and Database Management; Systems and Networking; Operating Systems.

Nomination materials are due to The Office of Fellowships no later than 12:00 noon, Monday, Nov. 14th 2016.

In order to be considered students must meet the following criteria:
• Full-time graduate students pursuing a PhD in the research areas represented by the fellowships.
• Must attend one of the eligible schools and universities. Student must remain
enrolled in the PhD program or forfeit the fellowship award.
• Must be nominated by their department.
• Must have completed their graduate coursework in the PhD program and be embarking on or continuing their graduate research in the fall of 2017.
• Students who are already receiving another fellowship are not eligible.

Nomination materials must include:
• Name of fellowship for which student is being considered (Use the form: “Google Fellowship in (field)”).
• CV.
• Transcript of current and previous academic records.
• Research/dissertation proposal (recommended length 4-5 pages, no longer than 8).
• 2-3 letters of recommendation from those familiar with the nominee's work (at
least one coming from the thesis advisor).

Forward nomination materials to The Office of Fellowships (via email: s-hill@northwestern.edu) no later than 12:00 noon, Monday, Nov. 14th 2016.
