Workshop Description:

When instructors bring more active learning into the classroom, they often try implementing group work. However, implementing group work well is a tricky task. Focusing on enhancing community and inclusivity in the classroom, this interactive workshop will include evidence-based tips for finding group-worthy activities, forming groups, and dealing with the common challenges of implementing group work.

Workshop Facilitators:

Sara is a fifth-year PhD candidate in the Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics department.

Chen is a PhD candidate in Chemistry.

*STEM Workshops are part of CIRTL at Northwestern which serves graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to improve undergraduate learning in STEM.
